Absolutely incredible experience. No joke: best burger in Boston. I'm blown away. Delicious drinks, and great company. Ron Poster Trio was the band playing, and wow. These guys know Jazz, their positive energy was contagious. Brooke was our waitress and she was an absolute gem. She was incredibly attentive and nice as fudge. Love this place, WILL be coming back often. People from out of town will be returning to the city just to bask in this restaurants glory again. Bless it all
PROS: Very nice nightclub at night. Live music, tourist and native favorite, and the bouncers were very nice CONS: The bartenders were a bit nasty to me. Also, there is only street parking OVERALL: Besides the personalities of the bartenders I would highly recommend coming here
Popped in for $1/oyster happy hour; sat at the bar. Place is very cute. Oysters were delicious. Bartender was okay, but could use some service coaching. Great happy hour deal!!
Nicely varied menu, pleasant table service. The dessert menu skews to after dinner drinks. We were there a weekend night when a jazz trio setup and started their instrumental set at 7. It seemed a comfortable place to linger. Also, a "neighborhood " menu (fixed price 3 course for under $40 per) was offered as well as the appetizer/salad/entree menu. The room fills with the sound of group conversations but the the ceiling and floor length draperies seem to muffle the sharpness, making conversations more a background. Good for couples and small groups.
Came here for my cousins birthday and enjoyed a nice cocktail hour! Their creamsicle delights are amazing! And so are their espresso martinis. Service was great and the ambiance is calm but nice. Their clam chowder is also amazing, will be coming back!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4 and 7 pm, Carrie Nation offers $1 oysters. Unable to resist the allure of such value, I went to Carrie Nation on a Wednesday at 4pm. Predictably, staff seemed unoccupied and I sat myself at the bar immediately. I ordered a dozen oysters, which arrived promptly. They seemed fresh, plump, and delicious, given that the day's oysters originated from the East Coast. Apparently, the origin varies by day or several days. A couple had a bit of grit, but at this price point, I overlooked such a detail. The oysters arrived with 4 garnishes - lemon, cocktail sauce w/horseradish, a spicy mignonette, and a tart and garlicky mignonette. Personally, I preferred a dash of lemon and horseradish. Additionally, the establishment had Maine Lunch IPA on tap for $11. Any place w/this IPA already receives an elevated standing in my mind. In summary, for happy hour oysters, consider Carrie Nation.
